Emma Parsons joins AMBA as the Vice President for Operations and Member Engagement with over 21 years of leadership and financial management experience, including her most recent role as a defense/advisory consultant, working for several top firms providing national security and defense advisory consulting services.
A retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, Emma was raised in Fort Lee, and Palisades Park, New Jersey. She was commissioned through ROTC at The College of New Jersey (formally Trenton State College). As a junior Army officer, Emma worked in financial management positions overseas, including pay management in Korea and Egypt, budget analytics in Germany, and cash management for Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a senior officer, her roles shifted to strategic consulting, including business rule development for Army Human Resources Division, policy/legislative proposals for the Department of the Army Banking Program and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and case management for the Office of the Army Inspector General for an estimated 1,000 fraud/waste/abuse cases. Her financial portfolio included defense human capital (civilian and military), financial readiness programs, research and development, procurement for Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD), Chemical and Biological Defense Program (CBD-P), and supplemental funding in support of operations in Eastern Europe (defense of Ukraine).
Emma holds three master’s degrees, including her most recent from Tufts University in international business. Her certifications include a banking diploma from the American Bankers Association (ABA), Data Analytics from Cornell University and Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certification from the Society of Defense Financial Management.
She and her husband reside in Fairfax, VA, with one daughter.
