Micayla Costa - Association of Military Banks of America

Micayla Costa has joined AMBA as the Membership & Operations Coordinator. Her professional background spans the federal government, corporate technology sector, NGOs, and non-profits.

Born in Keflavik, Iceland on a former Naval Air base, Micayla grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, attending the Bolles School. After graduating from college, she launched her career in Otavalo, Ecuador, teaching English and conducting research as a WorldTeach fellow. After earning her TEFL certification, she taught in China and began working in education technology, taking roles in sales, strategy development and admissions, representing the UC Berkeley School of Information and Technology—and engaging in business development within the national security AI field at PerVista AI. She spent a year in Vienna, Austria as a United Nations intern, focusing on safety compliance and executive administrative support.

Upon returning to the U.S., Micayla served as a consultant with the Department of Defense (National Defense University) at Fort McNair, as well as the Department of State and SERCO. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in Hispanic Studies from the College of William and Mary, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She completed a semester abroad in Spain and earned certificates from the IAEA Nuclear Safety and Security Internship and United Nations Staff Systems College in Sustainable Circular Economy. Micayla is also a certified Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) teacher.

Currently residing in Washington, DC, she volunteers with local organizations such as the BIED Society, and Instacart.
