For more than six decades, the Association of Military Banks of America (AMBA) has stood at the intersection of service, banking, and national commitment. Established in 1959, AMBA was created to serve as a liaison between banks serving on military installations and the Department of Defense and the Military Services.
Today, AMBA remains the only national trade association dedicated exclusively to banks that serve the military and veteran communities. We advocate for the needs of our members in the halls of government, serve as a strategic partner to the Department of Defense and other federal agencies, and bring together and support financial institutions committed to the well-being of those who wear the uniform.
But our work doesn’t stop at tradition; we’re also helping to build the future of military banking. AMBA remains committed to supporting its members with resources to navigate a rapidly changing landscape: evolving regulations, digital transformation, AI, cyber-resilience, and growing demand for financial literacy and access. Through collaboration, education, and innovation, we help our members not just keep pace, but lead.
We connect institutions with one another and with key policymakers. We create space for mission-aligned innovation. And we amplify the voice of military banking, where decisions are made, ensuring that financial services remain a pillar of strength for service members, veterans, and their families.
Our purpose is simple: to help banks serve those who serve. And our promise is clear—we’re here to lead alongside you, elevate what’s possible, and strengthen the financial foundation of military life for generations to come.
